Welcome to our Southeast church of Christ website!
We are grateful with you for making time to inquire and learn more about us. As members of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, our primary goal is to faithfully serve and worship our God in accordance with His word so that all glory may be His through His son (1st Peter 4:11). Understanding that we are epistles of Christ that are known and read by all men, we strive to show that we have been written by the Spirit of the living God (2nd Corinthians 3:2-3).
We believe that the one true God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth for that is the worship He seeks and approves (John 4:23-24). We offer praises to our God with the fruit of our lips in song without the use of mechanical instruments (Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 13:15). We seek to sing and pray with understanding so that all in attendance may be edified and grow in the grace and the knowledge of our God (1st Corinthians 14:15-17, 2nd Peter 3:17-18). Our prayers are offered in the name of Jesus Christ to the Father so that the Father may be glorified by them(John 14:12-14). Every first day of the week (Sunday) we partake in the Lord's supper in remembrance of Him by eating unleavened bread and drinking fruit of the vine (Matthew 26:26-29, Acts 20:7, 1st Corinthians 11:23-26) and we make a collection for the saints (1st Corinthians 16:1-2, 2nd Corinthians 9:6-8). Also in accordance to His will, we assemble in fellowship and study our God's word together admonishing and exhorting each other to stir up love and good works with the whole truth of our God (Hebrews 10:24-25). We diligently work to present ourselves without shame before our God and preach with the purpose to convince, rebuke, and exhort with God's word His truth (2nd Timothy 2:15, 4:1-2). Finally, we press forward and try with our best effort to be the light of this world trying to shine bright to help lead all those who seek God find and glorify Him (Matthew 5:14-16, Philippians 2:14-16).
Therefore, we hope this will shed some light as to who we are and how we worship in spirit and in truth to be found approved servants of God. All of us here at the Southeast church of Christ invite and encourage you to come worship with us so that God may be always praised!
For Behold Your Calling (7-31-22)
By: Obed Pineda “Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.’” (Acts 18:9-10)…
Heed the Foxes (7-24-22)
By: Obed Pineda From 971 B.C. to 931 B.C., Israel enjoyed its greatest period of prosperity and peace as a kingdom. Such was the beauty of Solomon’s reign that the inspired penmen affirms, “he had dominion over all the region on this side of the River from Tiphsah even to…
An Impoverished State of Mind (7-17-22)
By: Obed Pineda Upon describing to the Ephesians the grim condition from whence they were redeemed by the Almighty, the apostle Paul reminds them “that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens of the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and…
I’VE GOT MY FOOT IN THE DOOR (7-3-22)
By John Mitchell I want what I don’t have, but I don’t want to give up what I do have. “I do want to be totally committed to loving, serving, and obeying God. But I don’t want to totally give up all the ways of the world.” Totally committed means…
Poison of Asps (7-10-22)
By: Obed Pineda After receiving word that his beloved had committed suicide, the Roman general Marcus Antonius (better known today as Mark Antony) took his sword and fell upon it, thus ending his life unaware that the report was false. Upon hearing of Mark Antony’s tragic end, Queen Cleopatra of…
From the Bowels of Death (6-26-22)
By: Obed Pineda It is by Divine design that the Gospel according to John distinguishes itself from the synoptics (i.e., Matthew, Mark, and Luke) in several marvelous ways. One distinction is John’s careful selection of only seven miracles executed by the Lord Jesus. John himself acknowledges that, “truly Jesus did…
The Curious Case of Judas Iscariot (6-19-22)
By: Obed Pineda “But for him who is joined to all the living there is hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” (Ecclesiastes 9:4) Labels are very common in society. Quite often a single decision made by an individual is enough to earn them their reputation.…
The Depreciation of a Blessing (6-12-22)
By: Obed Pineda It has been said that when purchasing a brand new, unused vehicle from the dealership, the moment you drive it off the lot the car loses value. Perhaps the reasoning for this concept is that the car’s label is immediately switched from “new” to “used” once it…

By: Zach Teasley This article is a reminder of our sacred charge given to us by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,…
The Divine Inquiry (5-29-22)
By: Obed Pineda God has always desired that His people be a people of understanding, knowledge, and wisdom, setting them apart from the rest of the world (cf. Proverbs 1:1-7, Ephesians 5:8-17). For this reason, it is valuable to learn that these three terms are not the same by definition,…
