Welcome to our Southeast church of Christ website!
We are grateful with you for making time to inquire and learn more about us. As members of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, our primary goal is to faithfully serve and worship our God in accordance with His word so that all glory may be His through His son (1st Peter 4:11). Understanding that we are epistles of Christ that are known and read by all men, we strive to show that we have been written by the Spirit of the living God (2nd Corinthians 3:2-3).
We believe that the one true God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth for that is the worship He seeks and approves (John 4:23-24). We offer praises to our God with the fruit of our lips in song without the use of mechanical instruments (Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 13:15). We seek to sing and pray with understanding so that all in attendance may be edified and grow in the grace and the knowledge of our God (1st Corinthians 14:15-17, 2nd Peter 3:17-18). Our prayers are offered in the name of Jesus Christ to the Father so that the Father may be glorified by them(John 14:12-14). Every first day of the week (Sunday) we partake in the Lord's supper in remembrance of Him by eating unleavened bread and drinking fruit of the vine (Matthew 26:26-29, Acts 20:7, 1st Corinthians 11:23-26) and we make a collection for the saints (1st Corinthians 16:1-2, 2nd Corinthians 9:6-8). Also in accordance to His will, we assemble in fellowship and study our God's word together admonishing and exhorting each other to stir up love and good works with the whole truth of our God (Hebrews 10:24-25). We diligently work to present ourselves without shame before our God and preach with the purpose to convince, rebuke, and exhort with God's word His truth (2nd Timothy 2:15, 4:1-2). Finally, we press forward and try with our best effort to be the light of this world trying to shine bright to help lead all those who seek God find and glorify Him (Matthew 5:14-16, Philippians 2:14-16).
Therefore, we hope this will shed some light as to who we are and how we worship in spirit and in truth to be found approved servants of God. All of us here at the Southeast church of Christ invite and encourage you to come worship with us so that God may be always praised!
The Charge of the Church’s Future (4-17-22)
By: Obed Pineda Around 63 A.D., the apostle Paul was freed from his house arrest in Rome (according to the predominant opinion among Biblical historians, cf. Acts 28:30). The apostle quickly picked up his missionary task once again and traveled east of Rome, arriving first at Ephesus. Looking to continue…
Vanishing Wisdom (4-10-22)
By: Obed Pineda Upon reading Ezekiel 7:26, there is a very important disappearance mentioned by God. The Bible reads, “Destruction comes; they will seek peace, but there shall be none. Disaster will come upon disaster, and rumor will be upon rumor. Then they will seek a vision from a prophet;…
Climbing the Sycamore Tree (4-3-22)
By: Obed Pineda There are certain trains of thought that are detrimental to one’s spiritual growth. For example, consider the lazy man’s slogan: “Not today, maybe tomorrow.” This expression, unfortunately, is much too common among Christians concerning the study of God’s Word. This lackadaisical approach to spiritual affairs not only…
Melody In Our Hearts (3-27-22)
By: Joel Ramirez We are wrapping up an excellent class in the adult Wednesday Bible studies regarding the songs in our song book. The point has been made, and rightly so, that we need to consider the words we sing as songs are a form of teaching as well as…
Spirit of Tenacity (3-20-22)
By: Obed Pineda In the summer of 64 A.D., a great disaster sparked one of history’s most vicious crimes against humanity; the Neronian Persecution. Roman historians believe that the raging fire that lasted several days and devoured a great portion of the ancient city begun at the Circus Maximus. Although…
The Fall of Solomon’s Temple (Part 7) (3-13-22)
By: Obed Pineda When studying history, there is always someone who questions the purpose of knowing about the past. A common response to this query is that in certain situations ignoring the past can doom an entire society to repeat it. It should also be noted that many of the…
The Fall of Solomon’s Temple (Part 6) (3-6-22)
By: Obed Pineda “The righteous God wisely considers the house of the wicked, overthrowing the wicked for their wickedness” (Proverbs 21:12). Upon reading this godly proverb, two thoughts quickly appear in this author’s subconsciousness. First, I am reminded of Jehovah God’s explanation to His friend as to what mission His…
The Fall of Solomon’s Temple (Part 5) (2-20-22)
By: Obed Pineda If it is true that the names of Saul, David, and Solomon brought forth blissful memories of an Israel that relished in an abundance of prosperity and fame, then the opposite must be true of Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, and Zedekiah. Although the first group of kings ruled over…
The Fall of Solomon’s Temple (Part 4)(2-13-22)
By: Obed Pineda It is undeniable that one of Israel’s darkest periods in history ran from 606 B.C. to 536 B.C. This obsidian mark on Israel’s timeline is remembered as the years of captivity, or the period of exile. During this time frame of uncertainty and sorrow, the questions haunting…
OVER COMERS AND COWARDS (2-6-22)
An OVER COMER is a person who is successful in not letting the fear of failure, allow a problem or difficulty to defeat him or her. A COWARD is a person who lets the fear of failure, allow a problem or difficulty to defeat him or her. We can courageously…
