Welcome to our Southeast church of Christ website!
We are grateful with you for making time to inquire and learn more about us. As members of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, our primary goal is to faithfully serve and worship our God in accordance with His word so that all glory may be His through His son (1st Peter 4:11). Understanding that we are epistles of Christ that are known and read by all men, we strive to show that we have been written by the Spirit of the living God (2nd Corinthians 3:2-3).
We believe that the one true God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth for that is the worship He seeks and approves (John 4:23-24). We offer praises to our God with the fruit of our lips in song without the use of mechanical instruments (Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 13:15). We seek to sing and pray with understanding so that all in attendance may be edified and grow in the grace and the knowledge of our God (1st Corinthians 14:15-17, 2nd Peter 3:17-18). Our prayers are offered in the name of Jesus Christ to the Father so that the Father may be glorified by them(John 14:12-14). Every first day of the week (Sunday) we partake in the Lord's supper in remembrance of Him by eating unleavened bread and drinking fruit of the vine (Matthew 26:26-29, Acts 20:7, 1st Corinthians 11:23-26) and we make a collection for the saints (1st Corinthians 16:1-2, 2nd Corinthians 9:6-8). Also in accordance to His will, we assemble in fellowship and study our God's word together admonishing and exhorting each other to stir up love and good works with the whole truth of our God (Hebrews 10:24-25). We diligently work to present ourselves without shame before our God and preach with the purpose to convince, rebuke, and exhort with God's word His truth (2nd Timothy 2:15, 4:1-2). Finally, we press forward and try with our best effort to be the light of this world trying to shine bright to help lead all those who seek God find and glorify Him (Matthew 5:14-16, Philippians 2:14-16).
Therefore, we hope this will shed some light as to who we are and how we worship in spirit and in truth to be found approved servants of God. All of us here at the Southeast church of Christ invite and encourage you to come worship with us so that God may be always praised!
The Authentic City of Brotherly Love (11-14-21)
By: Obed Pineda During the second century BC, the ancient kingdom of Lydia was ruled by Eumenes II. On the Cogamus River, 105 miles east from Smyrna, a city was founded upon a terrace 650 feet above the sea, with volcanic cliffs behind it feeding the soil with rich minerals…
An Alarming Prolificacy (11-7-21)
By: Obed Pineda Since Eden, man has often struggled with taking responsibility for his actions. This reality is evinced by how prolific mankind has become in the art of self-justification. At Eden, Adam and Eve placed blame on another as an explanation for their “unintentional” disobedience (cf. Genesis 3:11-13). Curiously,…
Giving Up the Inheritance (10-31-21)
By: Joel Ramirez In a recent adult class I attended, the subject of Esau was reviewed and I began to see his story in a new light. The discussion started with how easily Esau gave up his inheritance over a bowl of soup. The discussion moved on to Jacob, the…

By: Obed Pineda If you enjoy camping in the woods on a summer evening, then you have undoubtedly been mesmerized before by the intermittent flashes of fireflies filling the night. These nocturnal beetles are able to produce their famed glow through a process called bioluminescence. Lightning bugs have special cells…
Standing Water (10-17-21)
By: Obed Pineda There is no doubt that mankind has always been captivated by the pleasures and beauty of water. The soothing sounds of waves washing upon the sands or the constant running of the river currents invites an individual to jump in and enjoy a refreshing swim. The calm…
An Inaudible Sermon (10-10-21)
By: Obed Pineda Edgar A. Guest was an American poet that was given the moniker “the People’s Poet,” because of how relatable his poetry was to everyday life. In one of his most popular poems titled Sermons We See, Guest eloquently voices how actions have a greater value over words…
Prisoners of the Gospel (10-3-21)
By: Obed Pineda It is fascinating how language can often be simple and complex simultaneously, especially from generation to generation. When words are used as they were originally designed, a clear flow of comprehension manifests between those engaged in conversation. Yet, in that same conversation, one word, sentence, or phrase…
DO YOU WORSHIP IDOLS? (9-26-21)
By John Mitchell Most people would say that they don’t worship any statues. In the Old Testament, in Exodus 20:3-5, God wrote the Ten Commandments on two stone tablets. The first one is, “You shall have no other gods before Me” and the second one is, “You shall not make…
Removing the Sandals Off Our Feet (9-19-21)
By: Obed Pineda “Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil” (Proverbs 4:26-27) It is undeniable that the greatest honor any man or woman can receive in life is to be…
The Panacea of Life (9-12-21)
By: Obed Pineda When one takes a moment to observe how much impact the ancient Greek culture still has in our modern civilization, it becomes evident why some refer to this old society as the “Cradle of Wisdom” or the “Cradle of Thought.” Observe that their influence can be found…
