Welcome to our Southeast church of Christ website!
We are grateful with you for making time to inquire and learn more about us. As members of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, our primary goal is to faithfully serve and worship our God in accordance with His word so that all glory may be His through His son (1st Peter 4:11). Understanding that we are epistles of Christ that are known and read by all men, we strive to show that we have been written by the Spirit of the living God (2nd Corinthians 3:2-3).
We believe that the one true God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth for that is the worship He seeks and approves (John 4:23-24). We offer praises to our God with the fruit of our lips in song without the use of mechanical instruments (Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 13:15). We seek to sing and pray with understanding so that all in attendance may be edified and grow in the grace and the knowledge of our God (1st Corinthians 14:15-17, 2nd Peter 3:17-18). Our prayers are offered in the name of Jesus Christ to the Father so that the Father may be glorified by them(John 14:12-14). Every first day of the week (Sunday) we partake in the Lord's supper in remembrance of Him by eating unleavened bread and drinking fruit of the vine (Matthew 26:26-29, Acts 20:7, 1st Corinthians 11:23-26) and we make a collection for the saints (1st Corinthians 16:1-2, 2nd Corinthians 9:6-8). Also in accordance to His will, we assemble in fellowship and study our God's word together admonishing and exhorting each other to stir up love and good works with the whole truth of our God (Hebrews 10:24-25). We diligently work to present ourselves without shame before our God and preach with the purpose to convince, rebuke, and exhort with God's word His truth (2nd Timothy 2:15, 4:1-2). Finally, we press forward and try with our best effort to be the light of this world trying to shine bright to help lead all those who seek God find and glorify Him (Matthew 5:14-16, Philippians 2:14-16).
Therefore, we hope this will shed some light as to who we are and how we worship in spirit and in truth to be found approved servants of God. All of us here at the Southeast church of Christ invite and encourage you to come worship with us so that God may be always praised!
The Seven Mile Trek (2-1-26)
By: Obed Pineda When studying Scripture it is vital to keep in mind the purpose for which one studies it. The apostle to the Gentiles bowed before the Almighty requesting on behalf of the Colossians “that you may be filled with the knowledge of His willin all wisdom and spiritual…
The Two Roads of our Life (1-18-26)
By: John Mitchell There is a Robert Frost poem titled, “The Road Not Taken”. The last sentence of the poem is, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Much more importantly, through the scriptures in the…
The Other Thief (1-11-26)
By: Obed Pineda Regret is arguably one of the worst (if not the worst) feeling anyone can experience. The realization that reveals the once in a lifetime opportunity that we just rejected because our judgment was compromised, begins to torment us with a simple two letter word; “if.” This word…
Securing Our Foundation (1-4-26)
By: Obed Pineda Foundation is defined as “an underlying base or support, especially: the whole masonry substructure of a building” (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary). Keeping this in mind, the Bible states: “In the LORD I put my trust; how can you say to my soul, ‘Flee as a bird to your…
Striving for Spiritual Maturity (12-28-25)
By: Orean Brown The year is drawing to a close and we are about to step into another year. It has been an eventful year. Many things have happened that we never faced before. Some things had happened that were quite familiar. Yet, we do not know what tomorrow or…
The Merchant of Death (12-21-25)
By: Obed Pineda It has been stated before that the identity of a man is shaped by two primary factors: his biological inheritance and the environment in which he was raised. If we self-examine the origins of our current personality, we will confirm that these two components are indeed responsible…
The Changing of the Guards (12-14-25)
By: Obed Pineda Ever since the early sixteenth century, England’s elite soldiers who form the Royal Body Guard are entrusted with protecting the palace where the current monarch resides. After the designated time would be met, the current group of sentries guarding the royal residence would be replaced by a…
Soldered Through Sorrow (12-7-25)
By: Obed Pineda Many are the theories that aim to “decode” a deeper meaning of the Bible’s shortest passage. Some say that the beloved disciple’s purpose for including that “Jesus wept” was to reveal His broken heart when He witnessed the incredulous and obdurate hearts of His fellow Jewish kinsmen…
The Top Ten Percent (11-30-25)
By: Obed Pineda World renown English playwright and poet William Shakespeare wrote, “Blow, blow, thou winter wind, thou art not so unkind as man’s ingratitude” (As You Like It, Act II, Scene VII). In the play, Lord Amiens laments about a friend who had quickly forgotten the kindness he had…
Little decisions sometimes have Big consequences (11-23-25)
By: John Mitchell Before we make a decision, we need to think about what the consequences of that decision may be. Each decision we make either brings us closer to God, by staying on the narrow path to heaven, or it leads us away from God, by being on the…
