Welcome to our Southeast church of Christ website!
We are grateful with you for making time to inquire and learn more about us. As members of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, our primary goal is to faithfully serve and worship our God in accordance with His word so that all glory may be His through His son (1st Peter 4:11). Understanding that we are epistles of Christ that are known and read by all men, we strive to show that we have been written by the Spirit of the living God (2nd Corinthians 3:2-3).
We believe that the one true God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth for that is the worship He seeks and approves (John 4:23-24). We offer praises to our God with the fruit of our lips in song without the use of mechanical instruments (Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 13:15). We seek to sing and pray with understanding so that all in attendance may be edified and grow in the grace and the knowledge of our God (1st Corinthians 14:15-17, 2nd Peter 3:17-18). Our prayers are offered in the name of Jesus Christ to the Father so that the Father may be glorified by them(John 14:12-14). Every first day of the week (Sunday) we partake in the Lord's supper in remembrance of Him by eating unleavened bread and drinking fruit of the vine (Matthew 26:26-29, Acts 20:7, 1st Corinthians 11:23-26) and we make a collection for the saints (1st Corinthians 16:1-2, 2nd Corinthians 9:6-8). Also in accordance to His will, we assemble in fellowship and study our God's word together admonishing and exhorting each other to stir up love and good works with the whole truth of our God (Hebrews 10:24-25). We diligently work to present ourselves without shame before our God and preach with the purpose to convince, rebuke, and exhort with God's word His truth (2nd Timothy 2:15, 4:1-2). Finally, we press forward and try with our best effort to be the light of this world trying to shine bright to help lead all those who seek God find and glorify Him (Matthew 5:14-16, Philippians 2:14-16).
Therefore, we hope this will shed some light as to who we are and how we worship in spirit and in truth to be found approved servants of God. All of us here at the Southeast church of Christ invite and encourage you to come worship with us so that God may be always praised!
Luminaries in the Babylonian World (4-23-23)
By: Obed Pineda Undoubtedly one of the examples that the title of this topic invites to the mind of the diligent student of the Bible is that of Daniel and his three friends. The reason these faithful men may appear in our mind’s eye is because the Scripture relates, “And…
Striving For Good Spiritual and Physical Habits (4-9-23)
By: Zachary Teasley As we live our lives from day to day, there are actions or behaviors that become a regular part of our routine. These repetitive actions that we decide to do for ourselves become second nature and can develop into habits. These habits (physical or spiritual) can be…
When Will it End? (4-2-23)
By: John Mitchell I remember the final scene in a movie that I saw years ago. Two men were in a house, and they were arguing with each other. One man shoots the other man. The man who was shot staggers to the side. Knocking over a lamp, he says,…
Let It Be Far from Him (3-26-23)
By: Obed Pineda There are corrupt men who audaciously surmise that it is impossible for there to be a God because of the tremendous amount of violence and pain that exists in the world. They state that it is inconceivable that an Almighty God, full of mercy and compassion, can…
“You Shouldn’t Have” (3-19-23)
By: Obed Pineda When a person is surprised with an unexpected gift, usually the phrase that follows is “you shouldn’t have.” It is curious that the expression’s subjective connotation does not necessarily align with it’s objective denotation. Currently, this phrase is often interpreted as a meek reaction of gratitude displayed…
Now May Be the Time That We Need to Give Up, Admit We Are Defeated, and Quit (3-12-23)
By: John Mitchell GIVE UP, trying to always have everything our way. We thought our way was the best way for us, but our life is much less than it could be, because we have been the one in control of it. ADMIT, that the devil has used our pride,…
Conduits of the Living Waters (2-26-23)
By: Obed Pineda “Also I heard the voice of the LORD, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’” (Isaiah 6:8) A conduit is a channel of some form that is typically used to transmit or distribute something through…
Follow the Money (2-19-23)
By: Joel Ramirez “Follow the money” is an old catchphrase that suggests political corruption can be brought to light by examining money transfers between parties. But this is also a great way to see what people invest their time and efforts into by seeing where they spend their earnings. Last…
Religion vs Relationship (2-12-23)
By: Orean Brown Many people today disparage “organized religion.” Instead, they simply desire a “personal relationship” with the Lord. However, this is not an “either-or” proposition. In our service to God, we have personal and corporate responsibilities. Notice what Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus: “And He gave some…
Asa’s Courageous Attempt (2-5-23)
By: Obed Pineda Of the twenty kings who ruled the southern kingdom of Judah (after the twelves tribes of Israel split into two kingdoms) only a handful of them are described by Holy Writ as good and righteous rulers, who “did what was good and right in the eyes of…
