We tend to pick and choose who we preach the gospel to. We fail to remember that the gospel is for all. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God has presented mankind a plan of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, therefore we must preach the gospel. Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The words we preach must be God’s Inspired Word 2nd Timothy 3:15-17 The apostle Paul encourages Timothy to preach God’s word, for it is able to make the wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus, and is God’s inspired word and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Therefore we must be prepared and willing to go out and preach the gospel. 1st Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
It is then when we preach God’s inspired word, that it has the power to save souls.
Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith. We see several examples in the new testament of the gospel’s power to save, and of faithful men presenting (preaching) the gospel of Christ. Acts 2:36-38 The apostles preaching Jesus on the day of Pentecost. Acts 8:35 Philip and the eunuch, Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
In conclusion we must Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine (2nd Timothy 4:2). The apostle Paul reminds the brethren in Corinth that it is God that gives the increase 1st Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gives the increase. Acts 2:47. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. So then whether we plant, or we water, in the end it is the Lord who has the power to save.
